Why Volunteer with us?
Our volunteers contribute hundreds of hours each year to advance the work of our members and normalize dialogue about mental health and wellbeing in the community.
Volunteers will work closely with members of the Coalition to connect the public to resources and information about mental health, counselling and wellness services for Black community members in Ottawa.
OBMHC staff work with volunteers to find meaningful activities that benefit the Coalition partners and the community, with both in person and virtual volunteer opportunities.

Become a Volunteer
The Ottawa Black Mental Health Coalition (OBMHC) receives administrative support from Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC). We recognize that volunteering can be beneficial for both individuals and communities.
On an individual level, volunteering provides a meaningful purpose and an opportunity for social interaction. It is also an opportunity to
learn new skills and gain work experience. At the community level, volunteers contribute to the rich fabric of our city by sharing
special skills, interests and time.
